Safety measures

Last update 08.11.2020

Although the situation with the spread of the virus in Latvia is stable and some of the precautionary measures have been eased with the lifting of the state of emergency, a number of restrictions must still be observed.

The basic principles remain the same:

  • Keep a distance of 2 metres!
  • Wash your hands!
  • Wear a mouth and nose covering when on public transport!
  • Stay home if you are ill!
  • Follow the informative signs in public places!

Wear a face mask in all public places, when receiving and providing services, as well as on public transport, in shops, in pharmacies, at the post office, at museums, in libraries, at airports, at bus stations and railway stations, and when attending exhibitions and places of religious activity, for example, a church service!

Public gatherings will be prohibited between 9 November and 6 December. No public events will take place. Up to 10 people from no more than 2 households may meet privately. No more than 50 people may participate in public meetings, rallies and political demonstrations, taking due precautions.
