Sports training in a group in professional and interest education programs


Indoors

  • Only with vaccination or recovery certificate.
  • Pupils of one class within one training group can train with a negative Covid-19 test performed within the screening of an educational institution.
  • Occupancy in changing rooms does not exceed 25%.
  • During swimming lessons in swimming pools up to the age of 12 for 1 person at least 6 m 2 of the water surface area must be provided.
  • Individuals (or several if living in the same household) can participate in sports activities together with a coach with a vaccination or recovery certificate.
  • No more than 20 students can gather at the same time in one training group.


Outdoors

  • With a vaccination or recovery certificate or pupils with a negative Covid-19 test (except for pre-schoolers)
  • No more than 20 students can gather at the same time in one training group.
  • Pupils of the same class who have taken the Covid-19 test as part of a screening organized at an educational institution can take part in sports within one training group. 

Sports training process


Indoors

  • Only with vaccination or recovery certificate.
  • At least 15 m2 of the area of the sports venue premises (in the public swimming pool - 10 m2 of the water surface area) must be provided for one person. If the training session is attended by students of one primary or secondary educational level (within one class) who have taken the Covid-19 test within the framework of a screening organized in an educational institution, then the above-mentioned restriction on the area of the room or water surface does not apply.
  • In group trainings no more than 20 people may gather in one training group at the same time. If the area of the respective sports venue allows it, if the flow of different training groups does not physically overlap, as well as separate supervision of their activities is ensured, the work of several training groups may take place at the same time.
  • During the visit to the sports venue indoors, a distance of 2 m is observed (except for the sports training room where the training process takes place).
  • Sports training is led by a person who complies with regulatory enactments regarding the certification of sports specialists.
  • Occupancy in changing rooms does not exceed 25% at the same time.
  • Persons who are not directly involved in its organization and course, including legal representatives of students, do not participate in sports training.

Outdoors

  • Only with vaccination or recovery certificate.
  • No more than 20 persons shall gather at the same time in one training group (excluding sports specialists and sports employees).
  • Occupancy in changing rooms does not exceed 25% If the area of the respective outdoor sports venue allows it, the work of several training groups may take place at the same time, if the flow of different training groups does not overlap and separate supervision of each group’s activities is ensured.
  • Individual physical activities without a coach - without restriction. 

International sports events
 

International sports events for athletes from the age of 16, as well as sports competitions of the highest leagues of team sports games if they compete for the title of Latvian champion for adults, both indoors and outdoors may also take place in an epidemiologically semi-safe environment.

Latvian national team (including youth and junior), Latvian Olympic team and Latvian Paralympic team athletes, team sports athletes of international and higher leagues (if they compete for the title of Latvian champion for adults in sports competitions), as well as sports trainings both indoors and outdoors of the students of the Murjāņi sports gymnasium and high-class athletes training centres may also take place in an epidemiologically semi-safe environment with employees who have a vaccination or recovery certificate.

Sports competitions take place in an epidemiologically safe environment, observing the following conditions:

  • The competition is included in the competition calendar of the sports federation recognized in accordance with the Sports Law of the respective sport, which is published on its website (indicating the name, venue and time of the competition, as well as the organizer of the competition).
  • Only persons who have a vaccination or recovery certificate and are provided with requirements for the organization of public events participate in the competition and are present at the venue. Latvian youth and junior national team athletes with a test certificate may participate in the Latvian adult championship. 
  • During the visit to the venue of the indoor sports competition, a distance of two meters is observed, as well as face masks are used (except for athletes during the sports competition).
  • Athletes of one team (also in individual sports) or sports staff servicing athletes do not have physical contact with athletes of other teams or sports staff servicing other athletes (except for athletes during sports competitions).
  • Occupancy in changing rooms does not exceed 25%
  • Awarding in person only takes place individually.
  • Spectators may attend sporting events and international sporting events if they have a vaccination or recovery certificate.
