The “Apturi Covid” app is the fastest way to find out if you have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19. Be informed and make well-considered decisions! In order to be able to reduce restrictions, outbreaks must be eradicated at their very root. Each of us can help by using this app.

Why use the app?
This app is a solution for helping limit the spread of the virus in Latvia and for finding out quickly whether you have been in contact with someone who has Covid-19. By using this app, you will be able to isolate yourself sooner, so as not to endanger your family, colleagues, friends, and other people, as well as recognise the symptoms of the disease and therefore seek help sooner if necessary.
How does the app work?
It is based on a methodology developed by European and Latvian scientists and on the new Bluetooth signal exchange algorithm developed by Google and Apple; the use of the app is voluntary. The app uses Bluetooth technology to anonymously identify smartphones that are located nearby (within a distance of ~2 metres for at least 15 minutes) and that also have the app. The recorded information is then stored on the user's smartphone and is automatically deleted after 14 days.
Regardless of the use of the app, the SPKC communicates with every person who has been confirmed to have Covid-19. SPKC does not receive this information from the app, but from medical institutions. If a patient uses the app, the SPKC will send a code that can be entered into the app to activate the sending of an anonymous notification to all of the recorded contacts who have been at risk of infection. You can receive the code in two ways – 1) you can write an e-mail to email@example.com, asking for the code or 2) you will receive the code after an SPKC epidemiologist contacted you.The identity of the sender is not revealed to the recipient of the notification. Similarly, patients do not have access to information about the recipients of the notifications.
Which smartphones support the app?
The app uses the Exposure Notification framework developed by Google and Apple, which is supported by all iOS devices that support the latest 13.5 operating system version (iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, SE, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, X, XS , XS Max, XR, 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, SE 2020), as well as by all Android devices with an operating system no older than the 6.0. version.
Currently, the app is not supported by these devices: HUAWEI P SMART.
